Sugar or a slow death?

Ahhhh, the sweet taste of a sugar cookie sure leaves the palate overly lubricated in anticipation of it's arrival. Just as I am about to enjoy something that I rarely eat, here comes someone telling me "You know, too much sugar is bad for you", with that familiar finger wagging at me as if I am being scolded. I sigh, then grab the air I need to manifest a dialog that many are not familiar with. "So, you think sugar free sweetners are better than the real sweetner itself"? Then comes the "Yes" I do. ASPARTAME. Have you ever heard of this substance, I ask? "No" is the reply as usual. Well let me enlighten you. Aspartame is a substance which mixes with the chemicals of your body and forms something deadly known as "formaldehyde". Do you know you are being embalmed slowly? Most people that have come down with Lupus are now tracing their steps to what they have been consuming, and guess what? They have been drinking coffee with artificial sweetners and diet sodas 3 to 4 times a day! Guess what else? The patent has expired on it and many conglomerates are enriching their pockets from the proceeds. There are atleast 92 health problems associated with the use of this problem, yet it has yet to be yanked off the market. The New York times even ran a article on this telling those that would listen how deadly it is to the humans that consume it in 1996. They aslo explained how the food industry endorses Monsanto, the creator of this substance. What if you are a Diabetic? Then kiss your sweet muffins goodbye! Did you kow that when doctors have remove brain tumors, they find traces of aspartame? Guess what else comes with your newly sweetened cookies? Multiple Sclerosis, seizures, neuroligical disorders and give your child birth defects if you're pregnant. What happens is once the agent heats up and the temperature around you gets hotter, the aspartame turns into wood alcohol. That then forms into with your bodily fluids, FORMALDEHYDE. Have you had any hallucinations, abdominal pains, burning togue, headaches and panic attacks? Well if you have been consuming nutra sweet or equal, get ready for a long HOT summer as predicted by the almanac. So, pass me the sugar please! I would rather have a fat thighs and a fat belly than CANCER!

Thank you for informing people about the dangers of artificial sweetners! I'm not a fan of high fructose corn syrup either, but I think aspartame is much worse. I agree that sugar is better than most of the alternatives, but I recommend trying Blue Agave nectar sweetener--it has a lower glycemic value so it doesn't cause spikes in blood sugar, and it's sweeter than sugar. Most importantly, it's delicious!

I vote for sugar.I know whenever I add sugar to my tea I am taking slow poison but I can't live without it...I will have it till my pancreas stop producing insulin.
