Are you too Politically Correct?

Could you be too politically correct?

How about on issues such as education, race, gender and politics when it doesn't affect you you aren't but when it does you're not? Let's take a look at a few issues going on today. We have a major campaign that is spewing rhetoric regarding one Pastor and not the pastor of the two other candidates? Is it the media, or as Mc Cain said regarding the housing crisis " It's our own dumb stupid faults"?

Education is the corner stone to our existence yet we as Americans find that American Idol or the Next Top Model Search is more of a issue. When you have a organization such as the Parking Authority that collects funds from citizens of the city and give a cut to the school system, yet they never receive it. One has to wonder is education really important? I mean no one is even making a fuss about it. We have a crisis in our schools and they are being neglected and here comes Mc Cain's rhetoric again in my head. I mean why should anyone else care if you can't keep YOUR kids in order! We'll continue to take your tax dollars and give you uncertified teachers. The nerve of you! Which brings us to RACE. Uh Ohhhh, there's that word yet again that most of us love to avoid. Now race rears it's ugly head again and won't let America forget it because it, also has been neglected. Wait, lets talk about that later because , it's the Playoffs for hockey and basketball! Don't you want the scores? Racial injustices will always be there right? It has since most were colonized right? Let's not discuss that, it will fix itself. If I were to bring up the past, I might be dissappear. I know I will be threatened to the least, look at Rev. Wright. Now, who was discriminated against longer? Men or women? Easy one. Now whom shall I pick as a nominee? A African American or Woman? Here's a easy one. THE BEST CANDIDATE. Here's what makes it different though with the gender and race issue for the world and nominees. She's throwing mortars at him and dodging real issues that the media is letting her like she is getting off that plane in Bosnia. She has a ex-pastor that is serving time in prison for child molestation. Haven't heard that heh? Rev. William Procanick was found guilty Jan. 22 of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Yet you didn't hear that either? How about Mc Cain's pastor haggee who declared "All Muslims are programmed to kill and we can thus never negotiate with any of them", or "Islam is a demon religion with a demon god" and that the Catholic church is the great whore". Nothing there even? Ahhh the sweet ole media. So let's again visit the real issues, $5 a gallon for gas, katrina victims being thrown out of Fema homes and being pepper sprayed, THE ECONOMY, food shortages, job losses and bailouts for billionaires and not those who lost their homes to predatory lenders. Is it our own dumb stupid faults? To much to fret over huh? Ok, I'll go back to listening to the country tell yet another minority to shut up and go along with the plan.

We need more people like you who "aren't" afraid to tell the truth about what's going on in our so called "United States of America"

Everyone is saying that Obama is playing the "race"card, but to be honest it's the MEDIA who is actually playing the "race" card. I think more people need to focus more on what's the real issue at hand. Clinton and Mc Cain are doing whatever they can to take the negativity off of them and making sure they pass it off to Obama. No one's questioning them on the "Wrongs" their former pastors have done in the past, why not? Let's talk about what they did......

You speak as a fair-minded person with reasonable expectations, and raise some great points and true we should not just go for the okey-doke this time. See this: Overall, Obama is showing why even with sand thrown in your eyes, it always pays to take the high road because those who wish to see reality, who want a reason to believe, they will. Yes, the media is steering the tide because regardless of the medium, behind the scene are personal human interests, motives and schemes all driven by ego. Obama appears to rise above this at least most of the time if not all the time - at least in the public eye. And others, threatened by their inability to rise to such challenges, it's much easy to travel the low road to rock up the path of others. even when your character is impuned, you can challenge your ego and stay on course. Persons like Obama remind us of the challenges and of the reward in striving in spite of it all, and of the legacy of others who've had to pursue the greatest nobility of human nature - humility and gratitude. So Obama can and will achieve heights that his opponents have not/will not and that we can all be proud of - whatever the outcome. Let us remind ourselves of that and aspire towards it so that we don't lose heart and hope.

Great responses,

Unfortunately we live in a time where the most important issues are clothing lines, car models and sports figures. That tends to take much of our thoughts away from important issues. This has been going on for a very long time. I have other topics to discuss, but haven't received enough responses yet on this real issue to move on. Thanks for the responses so far.
